Something I've always loved doing is helping people out. And I know everyone needs money! I'v done this before in other guilds and everyone loves it. It's just star wars trivia plain and simple. I would fund it entirely. The game would just be "Answer a question correctly, get one million credits." And I would have a "Get to know the host trivia section" Where I would ask multiple choice questions about myself and if people get those correct they'd get 2 million per question. With more players I'd raise the rewards and the stakes makig an actual game out of it. My in-game name is "Soge'ki" if you need to contact me. Something we have talked about was having some give-aways based on using our Ventrillo server (not necessarily part of an "event", but more of an on-going thing). I don't think anyone would object to you doing this kind of thing, on your own even, especially if it became something that got new people using our Vent.

Trivia night Things that could have been found on forums or are repeatedly said. This will encourage people to read through the forums more, and pay attention to chat in game. This will increase interactions between members. Example questions "Which player had the most CQ points 2 weeks ago" "What raid teams meet on tuesday" "which officers were most recently promoted to Caporegime" Im sure others can think of better questions, first person to answer correctly gets a certain amout of money. some questions can have multiple answers, 1 person can only give 1 of the answers. some questions can be worth more money. I like this idea, as it encourages using the website as you said. Again this could almost be more of an ongoing type of thing that we do... get people into Vent and have a website trivia game. There probably isn't enough new activity on the website to do it weekly, but maybe there could be a combo of ideas mixed here to do some kind of weekly vent/website/star wars trivia contest in Vent with the members.

Another good vent/in-game combo idea might be a '20 minute' lesson segment based around each class taught either by a 'lead' person or even maybe more 'open panel'? The idea came to me from the last commander run I was on. I don't know who was talking as we were in-game and I only had vent in my ear, but we had a new to the run tank being (very patiently) coached by someone else. Little things like "stand by this tree." "run to that rock." "use this skill to pull instead of that one" etc, made all the difference (at least from my perspective) in the confidence of the new tank. Learning class tips like that "group style," maybe on an occasional Monday night when not so pressured for CQ, might be an idea. Might even work as a great recruiting tool for new-to-the class or new-to-the-game folks who get to join the guild as a pre-rec to come to the class. I know a ton of people in this guild might already know everything, but as someone who only has 1 level 70 thus far and haven't even played most of the classes yet at all, I know I learn more in one outing with BBB than anywhere. Sure you can read guides (and I do) and there is always good old-fashioned trial & error (my main teacher. haha) but there is something different about being coached/mentored on the tips and tricks that come from personal experience that just isn't replicated anywhere else.

If this was mentioned already I apologize. I admittingly did not read through all the pages of responses, yet! Something I have learned while managing teams and people is that recognition goes a very long way. What is even more impactful is spontaneous recognition. People can be measured when looking at stats or actions over a course of time, then reward the top people for doing a good job. What is missed a lot, and can encourage more out of the everyday player is something for a player who randomly does something you all deem to be good. I have seen communication, productivity, and participation all increase with simple recognition gifts/rewards/acknowledgments when someone did something I considered helpful and acted on it right then. So with all that said, here is an in-game example of something you might find warranted. Say you are an officer and playing the game as usual. You see in guild chat or in BBB chat that a player has helped another on gearing or helping get through some Heroics to level. Once you have the time (but not wait too long), you call out that player in chat (so others can see) how you saw the help said player provided and that you have something for that player. You can give credits, items, just a simple good job man, anything you feel fits. This will go a long way! You can decide what would be worthy of whatever "reward" you decide, but the key is to make it a public action. If they are in Vent, call them out there with everyone listening. If only in guild chat, call it out so that the 20+something members online can see it. Even better is BBB chat which covers even more of the player base. Just something to consider.

I was busy with other things, but saw Malgus running the contests tonight in /bbb chat. Thanks, man! Fun stuff like that makes otherwise dull Sunday nights much more fun. Appreciate the effort!

Yeah Jaelyx 2 mil in prizes, Acynthe came away with 1.3 mil. and Skell was nice enough to donate his winnings to the guild.
I'll try to do more events like that, maybe some parkour or more trivia as time and credits allow.
If anyone else has any ideas message me on the forums or in game. i would love to hear from everyone about what is liked!

But no one trusts me. People think I am trying to scam them so no one wanted to be apart of the game. It didn't help that one of the higher up said they didn't trust me in the guild chat. I may need an officer to help me get the ball rolling. I've got lots and lots of credits(putting an exact number feels tacky) and I would love to give them to guild members to help them. And yeah, it'd be a fun way to get more people using vent and meeting each other.

People are naturally suspicious by nature and there are always people in the game that like to take advantage of others. We just haven't had time to get to know you yet and see that you are NOT in that category... so just be patient and don't fret about it too much. Maybe start by teaming up with Malgus to help fund his /bbb channel trivia/hide & seek stuff... I'm sure he wouldn't mind a little financial backing to assist with these types of fun diversions! But most of all, just give it time and keep being active/hanging out in vent. Once people get to know you and see that your intentions are good, then it will be easier to get the ball rolling on this kind of stuff.

I plan on sticking around and being very active this time around so I thought I'd get involved in the community. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep an eye out for Malgus.

I think I mentioned this a little while ago in the shoutbox. Since many of us now have a Party Jawa/Celebration Jawa from the anniversary vendor, we could farm one, or both of the related pvp achievements. "This Party's Over" requires 100 kills of enemies who have the Jawa out, grants 10 achievement points and the Legacy title "Party Crasher." The other achievement is "Life Of The Party." It requires killing 500 players while you have the Jawa out, and grants 25 achievement points. The latter would take longer and might not be so appealing to those who don't care about achievement points, but I think a lot of people would want the Legacy title and may have missed out on getting the Party Jawa when it was available the first time. It could be easily done like how the Scare Bear farming went on during the Halloween event and wouldn't take nearly as much time. If people are looking for the "Life Of The Party" achievement they can always keep it out while doing warzones.

I like it Rube! That is exactly the kind of things I like to do to break up the monotony of whatever I am grinding. I don't know why, but I like titles. The longer the list when I use the drop down the better!

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but we could have events around the various events in-game like Rakghoul, Bounty Hunter's week, LifeDay, and the one that would probably be worth the most, Gree Week. I had just resolved myself that I would never get a Gray Helix (sp) component. If we had a run whee ppl could get components, its possible (for some of us) that could represent the only chance of ever obtaining them.
Things like completed bounty contracts could be given out as rewards for other unrelated contests. Rakghoul DNA same thing. The winner of one contest could win a run thru of one of the events that reward Gree components, etc etc. For officers that know the events it might not be a bid deal (so doable) but for some new to game they might otherwise never get a chance thereby increasing the value of that reward.
For ppl who need WB trophies to recruit Qyzen Fess (Alliance) world boss runs could be given as rewards. Runs thru the combat arena on Zakuul to gain favor with Bowdaar same thing. Hell some of these could BE events not just rewards...

If you NEED the rep, then do ALL Gree missions. If you only need/want Gray Helix components then I would suggest a couple things: - Do 16 man Hard & Story Mode Xeno as you will make a BUNCH of Gray Helix components (you'll make 20+ I think just running these once). We tend to do this several times during the Gree Event, by the way. - Do the Heroic mission (The one where you kill robots at a pylon), do this in the PvP area in a PvE instance. You can't get attacked by players and THESE ROBOTS ARE MUCH EASIER TO KILL. I've done it solo. - There is a mission that you pick up inside the Sacant that sends you to kill robots on planets all over the Galaxy. It is time consuming BUT VERY EASY and you get Gray Helix components.

Your first suggestion is a rough one for many people in the guild (and not in the guild) because with both Xeno and Eyeless (the rakghoul tunnel instanced boss) they are no longer bolstered - and for many groups just unkillable, even in SM (as we found out with a guild group earlier this week). Unfortunately, too many people don't know how to deal with raid mechanics and stronger Healing/DPS requirements without bolster... so these fights have become out of the limits of what most can do (think lockouts with no gear bolster).
