Sorry I missed the Christmas Event tonight, y'all. I just spent 10 hours sitting in my car on the highway because whoever is supposed to like, put salt on the highways in this part of the world utterly failed at their job. It was 23 degrees outside, and I had to keep turning off my car to not run out of gas waiting for something to happen to indicate I had any hope of getting off the highway and home. I was 18 miles from my driveway, surrounded by thousands of fellow stranded travelers. No exaggeration. 10 hours. Of this: (photo was taken at about hour 7 or 8... when the ordeal began it was still light outside...) ![](http://i.imgur.com/icoSpzj.jpg?1) Never so glad to be home in my life. Hope the event went well. I missed you all!

I just asked if you were okay, not where you were I wasn't hurt or injured, but it wasn't a lot of fun either (no food or water or... facilities and stuck sitting in the driver's seat of your car for 10 hours solidly because you can't even get out to stretch your legs due to ice rink conditions on the highway)! Today the freezing rain is supposed to turn to snow and we start getting the sub zero temperatures. At least I'm now warm and dry! Much improved and looking forward to tonight. Though I am going to go crawl back into the nest for a few more hours under the pile of warm, fluffy blankets. <3

That's exactly how to do it. I've always wanted to enact my hibernation plan: pillow and blanket fort with a supply of whisky until March. Kinda related, I always keep an emergency blanket in my car (fleece on one side, some plastic-y material on the other to keep it waterproof) for situations where I'm going to be stuck in there. I actually asked if you were okay because I remember you almost going hoarse the night before. I thought it was that. At any rate, I'm glad you're okay

Dude, I wasn't even in game and was like, "where the hell is Babydoll right now??" We're in the middle of some "fucking really?" style winter weather; i.e. flood warning amounts of rain, followed by an overnight 50 degree drop into the teens in order to make sure the roads are fucked tomorrow morning. o.O Glad you eventually got out of there ok!

New term for BBB dictionary: Where's Babydoll?- when the BBB shitters are worried because their in-guild mother figure isn't there to hold their hand through the evening's activities

Holy crap! Not sure which storm you were in, but we were traveling west on 40 through NM and thankfully Google driving (which I use for GPS) warned us that the highway was closed ahead, so we pulled off and stayed in a small town about 100 miles before our intended location. Apparently there were massive accidents involving 40+ vehicles and it took from 2pm until after 10pm to get it cleared out.
Sorry you had to deal with so much shitty traffic, but very glad you made it home safe!!!

The beauty of this state, Adahay.. is that if you don't like the weather, you just wait a few days and it completely changes. It's very seasonal here and always changing. I grew up here, moved all over the eastern and southern US and ended up back here and don't regret it! (Except when the salt trucks don't do their jobs!)

Yea I spent a year in Louisville and when the salt truck got out it was no problem, but when they didn't the roads were a mess. We got hit here hard in Denver on Friday and the roads are still a mess because they fell behind.
