GUILD BANK CONQUEST MATS:
Last week was a very successful conquest crafting week and I'd like to thank everyone who helped us rack up all those points. However, there were a couple issues. Throughout the week we noticed a couple long-time trends that were worse than usual: Members solely relying on guild bank for all their conquest crafting mats + too many guild bank funds being devoted to re-stocking mats.
Just to clarify, members using guild bank to reinforce their own supplies was perfectly fine and that's exactly what lots of you did. The whole purpose of the guild bank being stocked with mats is to make things easier on all our dedicated crafters. However, some members did not come prepared with any supply of their own and then relied on guild bank to provide all of their mats. Some of these people then went on to win money in conquest contests. "Congratulations on using up guild mats with absolutely no cost to yourself. Here, have a few million credits!" It makes no sense. The people who actually sink their own money + mats into conquest are the ones who should enjoy all the rewards.
Another big problem is the insane costs of stockpiling a sufficient amount of mats with a guild as big as ours. Well over a billion credits in guild funds went into purchasing mats for guild bank last week and our supplies still got fucking decimated. 1 tiny guild can devote themselves to stocking up mats for a few weeks and have a decent shot at taking us out, simply because we have to stretch our resources across so many guilds. It's just so goddamn expensive to buy that many mats and even with the massive amount of money we make, it's not affordable. After that bigass casino guild event, the February staff salaries, this 3-way crafting week, and our most recent x2 conquest contest rewards, we're left with just under 1 billion credits left in total across all our guild banks. We're more "broke" than we've been in a very long time.
So, to combat the issues of "unfair" guild bank usage and the unsustainable cost of stockpiling mats, I've decided to change how the guild banks' conquest mats vaults will work. We will no longer hand out mats for free. Don't worry though, as this replacement program is completely fair and will allow both player + guild to benefit mutually. Instead of just giving you guys mats for free and draining the guild bank funds, or forcing you guys to buy our mats and draining your personal funds, we will meet in the middle and allow you guys to do 1:1 trades with the bank. If you want to take a component out of the bank, you simply trade us the mats required to make that component and then we give you that component. This requires you to use the exact same amount of mats as you would with crafting, but removes the part where you have to send out your comps and wait on crafting timers.
Similarly, we will also let you just straight up purchase mats at a cost that is determined by the average Crew Skill mission costs. This means you can purchase mats for the same amount of money it would cost to send out companions on missions, but without having to wait for the missions to complete. The guild bank will basically be like a companion that instantly (and almost infinitely) does Crew Skill shit for you. For example, a grade 8 green mat's Rich Yield mission costs 3,960 credits per mission. Each mission yields an average of 8 mats. 3,960 credits per mission ÷ 8 mats per mission = 495 credits per mat -- but we round it off to 500 just to make the math easier. (See here for the math on all the average CQ crafting costs.)
The staff team will be working their asses off to get all the banks full of 9999 stacks for you guys, then we'll be in pretty good shape after that. Whenever mats come out of the bank, the guild will receive the mats that make those mats or credits to send out companions to farm those mats. Either way, it creates a cycle that should allow us to sustain a large stockpile of conquest mats at all times, as long as our staff team stays on top of their crafting duties -- which I'm very confident they can do. Hopefully this is convenient and helpful for you guys.
So to summarize: No more free mats but the bank has a 1:1 exchange rate for all our conquest mats. This will NOT be starting immediately, as we need to restock our mats first, but when it goes into effect there will be a post about it on our front page. Below is a list of all the conquest crafting materials, along with how much it costs to buy them and what your options for trading are. Feel free to leave any feedback.
TRADE/BUY PROGRAM:
***VERY FUCKING IMPORTANT RULES!***
Some of you are going to look at our prices, compare them to the GTN, and realize there's a huge margin for profit. Some of you are going to take advantage of that. This is 100% unacceptable and we will approach this issue with a zero tolerance policy that is similar to our current flagship plan policy. If you buy/trade mats from the guild bank, you sacrifice your right to sell any conquest crafting materials. Period. This includes the GTN, one-on-one trades, mails, or any other type of sale transactions.Every time a staff member trades/sells mats to a guildie, they will write down their character name, legacy name, and what was traded/purchased. Staff will keep a masterlist of all guildies who utilize this trade/buy program and everyone on this list will be prohibited from selling conquest mats. If anyone on this list is caught selling mats, they will have their name transferred over to BBB's ban list where they can enjoy being a permanent enemy of the guild and all the perks that come with that.
Staff will also be checking conquest point totals to ensure that points are proportionate to how many mats were handed out. If someone takes enough mats to craft 1,000,000 points but ends the week with 1,000, they're gonna have some explaining to do and returns to make if they wish to remain in the guild. But those of you who truly use this program the way we intend it to be used will have nothing to worry about. If you really want to help the guild with conquest, you'll have no reason to sell off mats that could be used for conquest points (because you'll actually be using them) and you won't be in any danger of getting /gkicked or added to any shitlists.
Also, this program is only open to members who are at Associate rank or above. No website sign-up = no mats 4 u. Furthermore, staff reserves the right to place limits on transactions, at their discretion. If a brand new member joins the guild and is immediately asking to buy a fuckload of conquest mats, we're likely to place a cap on the amount or refuse altogether. We'll probably encounter non-guildies who join guild just to buy a ton of mats, either to sell for a profit or to gain points for their own guild, so we will be wary of low-ranking members and shitty CQ earners who randomly request excessive amounts of mats.
On the other hand, Veteran Gangsters who we know and trust will usually be able to get as much as they want.
HOW TO BUY/TRADE MATS:
- Open the guild list and see if anyone at Mafioso, Caporegime, or Underboss rank are online. Whisper them to tell them what you want and whether you're buying or trading, then they'll meet you on the guild flagship to make the trade with you.
- If no staff members are online, or you just prefer this option, you can mail "Gigenò" or "Nightmare Killer" with the credits to purchase the mats OR the mats to trade for them, along with a message saying which specific type of mats you want + how many of them. ("Mythra - 1000, Turadium - 1000" or "20 Carbonic Synth Bonded Attachments" or "Armored Vehicles x50" or something simple like that.)
